Historical Archaeology is the study of the material remains of past societies that also left behind historical documentary evidence. This subfield of archaeology studies the emergence, transformation, and nature of the Modern World.

Attended the SHA 2011 Annual Conference with my uncle Roberto Junco who presented his paper on the Nevado de Toluca as a representative of INAH.

Archaeological Institute of America

The AIA promotes a vivid and informed public interest in the cultures and civilizations of the past, supports archaeological research, fosters the sound professional practice of archaeology, advocates the preservation of the world’s archaeological heritage, and represents the discipline in the wider world.

A nonprofit organization, the AIA also seeks to educate people of all ages about the significance of archaeological discovery and is committed to preserving the world’s archaeological resources and cultural heritage.

Texas Archeological Society

January 2011 to Present

The Texas Archeological Society promotes study, preservation and awareness of Texas archeology. The Society encourages scientific archeological exploration and research, the preservation and conservation of archeological materials and sites, and the interpretation and publication of the data attendant thereto. To accomplish this mission and goals, the Society:
- Creates Training Opportunities for Students of All Ages;
- Enhances and Expands Programs;
- Increases and Diversifies Membership;
- Informs the Community of their Archeological Heritage and Values;
- and Cultivates and Preserves Resources (People and Dollars).
